As part of the SZ conference “The Digital Insurance”, innovative projects in the insurance industry were once again honored this year with the “Digital Lighthouse” award. Almost 40 projects were submitted to the high-caliber jury in 2021 and only four of them were awarded a “Digital Lighthouse”. SkenData won one of them with its innovative project in collaboration with Thinksurance.
Digital lighthouse – platform for innovative projects in the insurance industry
The Digital Lighthouse Award provides a platform for pioneering ideas, projects and solutions that play or could play a role in the digitalization of the insurance industry and to recognize them as exemplary lighthouse projects.
In addition to innovative and new digitalization projects, the completion of “digital homework” also plays a major role. However, not only the restructuring of companies, but in particular the optimization of the customer experience are high on the list of criteria for the award.
The high-caliber board of trustees, consisting of

- Lars Hinrichs (Cinco Capital),
- Karsten John (infas quo),
- Jan Meessen (Google) and
- Hermann-Josef Tenhagen (Finanztip)
reviewed and evaluated 40 projects submitted for the digitalization of the insurance industry and announced a total of nine nominations for the Digital Lighthouse. All nominated projects were presented at an online event on December 2, 2021, after which the four winners were honored.

SkenData was awarded the Digital Lighthouse 2021 for the joint project “Integration of digital building valuation – better advice, better documentation, more insurance cover” with Thinksurance GmbH.
