Thomas Chrismann, CEO of Schleswiger Versicherungsverein a.G., is also proud of the award win and the collaboration: “The award is proof of the successful collaboration between SkenData and Schleswiger Versicherungsverein a.G.”. Schleswiger Versicherungsverein. We look forward to further expanding our partnership and to continue to pursue innovative paths in the future.”
ESG criteria are essential for the future of homeowners’ insurance
ESG criteria such as energy efficiency class, CO₂ equivalents and primary energy demand must be applied in residential building insurance in order to do justice to the improvement of energy efficiency after a loss, the consideration of sustainability trends and proof via
ESG criteria, among other things.
It is precisely for this reason that the two companies have joined forces. Schleswiger Versicherungsverein is planning to roll out a new residential building insurance policy that requires the energy data of the properties to be insured in order to calculate the insurance premium
with regard to the ESG KPIs. Together, SkenData and Schleswiger Versicherungsverein are creating a green home insurance policy that rewards sustainability.
Green home insurance via API
For this purpose, the SkenData API is integrated into the Schleswiger application route. The entire process remains on the insurer’s user interface and is expanded to include the query and automated delivery of ESG KPIs. The energy assessment as well as various energy measures and their impact on CO₂ equivalents, the energy efficiency class and the
energy requirement are carried out and simulated with the joint solution.
New application process including modernization and refurbishment measures
Modernization measures improve the energy properties of the building and thus the ESG data. These refurbishment measures are applied in the insurer’s new application process and influence the loss ratio factor and therefore the final insurance premium.
Process plausibilities are also used to present the customer with the best possible scope of cover for their home insurance at the point of sale, which is highly dependent on the energy efficiency classes
